A mechanic friend of mine told me that refills are not as useful as they used to be. Compound curved windshields and long blades with many pivot points cause the blades to lose their effectiveness almost as fast as the refills wear out.

I have a pair of teflon blades but they are only a few months old so I don't really know how they will stand up yet.
