I don't think the 245 is larger. I had one for a while. The 7 and 9 wagons WERE larger than the 855.

According to a Road and Track special on the 850 before it was even released in North America, the 855 was listed at about 3500-5700 without the driver, with the sedan coming in at about 3300-3500.

Maybe the two were using different criteria for test weight?
