It is just an aluminum clip that clips onto the hose and the cooler housing. The clip has to be spread apart and it should slide down just enough onto the hose to be able to pull the hose straight out. Make certain that you have a rag under the connection because some tranny fluid will spill out.
Use a clear hose so that you can see the bubbles during the flush. I did this as a one-man operation and draped the hose over the driver's side fender so that I could see the bubbles and know when to shut off the engine from the driver's seat.
This was very easy to do. Removing the clip was the difficult part of the job.
