I too had the same problem, easily solved without a trip to the dealer. I simply removed the switch and took it apart (it's quite simple and intuitive, but easily broken, so go slow and be careful) eventually you'll get to the switch contacts. I cleaned mine with some q-tips, and the problem disappeared. I sold the car a few months later and upgraded to a T5-M (from a GTAS) so I don't know about longevity, but it can't hurt, can it?
