Odd A/C behavior after repair 850

the difference in air temps for left and right may be a divertor flap in the duct is not closing completely and shutting out the hot air mix.

I have a 97 850 turbo and the air is very cold at a stop but colder while moving due to the ambient air flowing through the condensor and removing heat from the system.

all AC's are most likely colder while moving.

And as far as the having to turn the car off to get the heater to turn off and AC to turn on, definitly sounds like a electrical problem.

are the two amber lights flashing on the AC panel when you start the car up and turn on the AC? This indicates a malfunction in the system. where they not flashing before the repair and flashing now?

i would take it back to the shop and take someonne for ride and show them exactly what it is doing, adn tell them it did not do that before hte repairs were made.

they had to cpompletely tear out your dash and may have messed up some wires or something during the repair, or hooked something up wrong?
