My '93 850 with 94,000 on it had same problem for some tiem. Became more frequent gradually. As Kirk said, it was the sway bar bushings, they became stipped over time. Sounds very similar to a bad strut/CV joint. My mechanic fixed at $15.00/bushing and 1/2 hour labor. Try this first. Rides, turns smooth and quiet again now.
