Whistling sound when accelerating??? 850 1995

I have just the opposite. When I give it light gas, I can hear the whistle alot more, but if I stamp on the throttle or give it heavy throttle it fades away. I've never owned/driven a turbo car before and I just find it very intersting to hear these interesting sounds coming from the engine. Quite cool!
