First of all, what makes you think your torque wrench is inaccurate? It takes years of proper use, to make one inaccurate.
Was the strut preassembled? Because I did a full suspension change last summer consisting of Koni adjustable shocks/struts, H&R springs, iPd anti-roll bars, PowerFlex bushings, and new hardware. While assembling the struts with the springs, there were a few more things to torque.
I would basically try to get my hands on an accurate torque wrench. They aren't very expensive. I wouldn't bother asking a tech to check for proper torque. I can't remember the last time I actually say a tech break out a torque wrench.
