Just some things:

Good sparkplugs?
Correct gap setting?
Good leads?
Distributor contacts clean and intact?
Timing belt in good shape?
Clean fuel filter?
Injectors OK?
Valves clean?
Cat still flowing OK?
Air filter clean?
Throttle body clean?
'binding' brakes?
Tyre pressures OK?

etc. etc. etc..

Basic checks of all relevant parts.

Performance really shouldn't change a lot over the cars lifespan.
