Are you *running* at 14psi? Or is it a spike? My car spikes under certain conditions (kickdown with car already at 50mph, which I believe is ECU permitted) and is limited under others (4-5 psi when starting from 0mph, then will move up to 9psi).
I don't think I would mess with boost control and wastegate settings, trying to bypass the ECU. I think this stuff has all been pretty carefully calibrated; the motronic ECU and a freeflow exhaust would do a whole lot more and pose fewer risks than overboosting.
