When you grease the pig.... 850

Whether you use the Volvo brake pad lube or someone else's, make sure it's rated for high temperature operation. Don't take someone's word for it, check out the packaging and compare specifications. Since Volvo's lube includes silicon, I expect that would be a key ingredient in most high-temp lube products. Teflon might be another. I've used Volvo's lube, and a special lube for Ford Taurus brakes (Ford oem, bought in 1992) which has served me remarkably well.

If in doubt, you know OEM is made to specifications.
