Thank you for the info, but it seems we are still talking about different things,
I went to the local Volvo dealer and asked the service guy what he thought. He said the whole dash needed to be removed, we then looked at some books and he asked one of the other workers to confirm, The co-worker also said they thought the whole dash had to come out to access this motor.
This has me thinking that I will now buy a new motor instead of one from a junk yard because if it fails I do not want to have to go through taking the dash out again.
