Headlight Beam Positioning 850

Find a fence or wall perpendicular to a level parking area (I like the AutoZone near my home, where someone has actually drawn marker lines for headlight alignment!), Aim lights accordingly. You don't need lines...you can eye it up pretty well yourself.

This is easier with E-code lenses as there is a hard horizontal cutoff, clearly visible, with most of the light aimed toward the pavement. US DOT lenses will be more of a fuzzy glow.

Aim too high, not enough light on the pavement (and too much in oncoming drivers' eyes). Aim too low, not enough useful light projected forward. Again, this is better with E-codes.
