V70T5 Built Sept 1997, Ghent Belgium delivered Oct., 1997.

Inside driver's door at rear edge:

White STICKER with VIN "Manufactured by Volvo Gothenburg, Sweden"

Riveted to LF side of engine compartment, next to battery:

Silver metal data PLATE (with VIN, color codes, upholstery codes, equipment codes etc.)

They built the "1998" cars in several plants in several countries over a couple of years, so really, it's anyone's guess. I would look for other evidence of collision damage. Any damage that required repainting the door might even be slight. It's just a plastic sticker on my car, not a plate.
