Ditto White Wagon's answer. Have a 96 850, it was the "checkvalve" that was bad. Got from the local volvo dealer.

I had to take off the insulation under the hood which was kind of a pain...using a quarter to unscrew...just make sure you take the BAD one off and put it in your pocket or somewhere so you don't re install it.

An easy fix that makes a difference
