EVAP System Issues and Check Engine Light V70-XC70 1998

A postscript to the above story.

Took the car in today, dealer rechecked EVAP system which was OK. This time, there was a 153 code (rear oxygen sensor not reading).

Turns out that the sealant which is used where the wiring goes into the oxygen sensor was either not done correctly or had degraded and the wiring got contaminated. A new oxygen sensor cured the problem ... luckily under warranty as I had it replaced last fall.

I'm still wondering what caused the charcoal canister to fill with fuel and the EVAP valve to fail.
