I Agree 850

In addition to everything said. You absolutely must have a competent shop perform a leak down test on the engine. A compression test does not tell you what you really need to know about the rings, pistons etc. A lead down test down. I have several friends that bought cars based on compression test results and had to have a engine rebuild because of the failure to have the leak down test performed. It costs about $100 at a competent shop. If the owner or shop does not want an independent shop to perform the test (make sure it is not associated with the owner or dealer) then something is very wrong.
