I have a '97 850 T-5 Wagon that I bought used and had constant ABS issues since day one. I live in Germany now finally went to an independent Volvo repair facility and they changed both rear wheel sensors for about $120. That was a month ago and I have had zero problems since. This was the only frustating thing about this car and it is now resolved. Well, the tranny died over here too, but a new transmission at 104,000 miles isn't too bad, is it? Wow, the price to replace was shocking, but it is a new versus a rebuilt because they do not used rebuilt trannies in Europe when one needs replacing. Good luck with the ABS issue...mine was easier to fix than I thought it would be with all the discussion on ABS controllers and solder joints etc... on this site.
