Battery's Positive Cable S70 1998

Hi,

Two days ago, the battery went completely DEAD. I had to call ??AA to jump-start my car. Yesterday, I brought a brand new battery from my Volvo dealer, which cost me $ 130 Cdn.

Anyhow, my service manager said that he would check over my entire electrical
system and charging system for FREE, if I took the Volvo into them. So, this
afternoon, I did that.

They came back and told me that my positive battery cable is very hot, and needs replacing. They quote me $ 290 Cdn for the part and the labour.

Has anyone of you encounter the same problem with your '98 S70 ?

I'm really close to trading in my Volvo. I am getting sick and tired of all the problems in the past 1-2 years. Last week, I went and test-drove a few 2002 & 2003 sedans/coupe:

- Acura RSX Premium; 3.2TL Type-S
- Audi A4 3.0 Quattro; Audi A6 3.0 Quattro
- BMW 325Xi; 330Xi
- Infiniti G35
- Jaguar X-Type 3.0
- Lexus IS300; Lexus ES300
- Mercedes-Benz C240 Elegance; C320 Sport
- VW Jetta GLX VR6 4Motion; Passat GLX VR6 4Motion

Thanks,

Kenny
