It shouldn't be too expensive. I had mine done professionally with Solargard tint all around for $160 (except windshield). Go with the metallized tint, not that crappy dye tint (turns purple over time). I went to a dark 13% and I love it! Looks really awesome, especially with my white Volvo. My car stays cooler in hot days, and also gives great privacy. I think dark tint looks great. About legality, depends on what state you live in. On all three vehicles I've owned I've had dark tint and never been pulled over for it. As far as not being able to see at night, it's not that bad, you get used to it. I have 13% tint and have no problems seeing how at night, even while reversing; just have to be extra careful.
