PNP is more than backup lights. 850

The PNP switch can effect a number of symptoms. Look over the procedure at http://www.volvospeed.com/bay13.htm (enter, transmission). You might try the 'ratchet cleaning' procedure he mentions first. Sorry I can't be more helpful...I haven't confronted this problem yet (knock on wood).
