Thanks for the inputs. I would prefer not to go the route of summer performance tires and another set of winter tires. I did that when I lived in northern IL, and even there, it was hard to justify the two sets of tires. I do have a 4 wheel drive SUV for the really rough winter conditions. I would prefer to have a good all season tire on the Volvo for year round use. I often leave the Volvo at the airport on business trips and it is unpredictable if there will be snow on the roads when I return. The worst scenario is being 150 miles from home, during an unpredicted snowstorm, with summer performance tires! YIKES! I think the best route to go, from the input I have received, is to maintain a 15" wheel/tire package, rather than going to a 16" package. I need to change out 2 of the OEM wheels because they are slightly bent and I am getting vibration from them.
