This morning, I discovered that three rivets are missing from one of the front mud flaps on my 2000 S70 GLT. My Volvo Parts department sells the replacement rivets/washers for ~$1. However, Volvo Service wants to charge me $30 for this repair.
I cannot stomach spending $30 for such a seemingly simple repair that will probably need to be done several more times in the future. I would like to complete this repair myself but cannot seem to find any instruction at Volvospeed.com or through the BrickBoard archives. I will be purchasing a Rivet Gun and rivets this afternoon. Do you know if this repair is more involved than just shooting the rivet into the hole (e.g. how is the washer mounted on the other side of the wheel-well? What needs to be removed and how?)? If so, can you please send me *detailed* instructions on how to complete this task?
Thanks, in advance!
Steve
