I had the same trouble with the windshield wiper lifting off at speeds greater than 50. Then I bought Volvo wipers( the blade plus the rubber) and no more lifting. As for the cost of the service, that sounds like the price of the 60k where they have to change the timing belt and accessory drive belt. If they are doing that, then it's worth it. These cars will last forever if properly serviced. You can do a lot of this stuff in your garage if you're so inclined. Check out volvospeed.com ...bay 13.
