Shudder while braking 850 1993

This has happened to my car.

Your rotor(s) are glazed?

What is glazed?

What happens is some organic substance, probably brake pad grease, has gotten on your rotor(s) and has asymetricallty baked on to the surface of the rotor. So when you engage the brakes, depending upon where in the 360-degrees of rotation your rotor(s) is, your breaks slip on the glazed part and grab on the un-glazed part.

You can tell if they are glazed, rather than warped, when there is no brake pedal pulsation.

I'll bet you that if you take off your wheels and look at your front rotors, on one area of one of your rotors you will see darkened discoloration. This is the glazing.

How do you get the glazing off? Since 850s are front wheel drive, I've been able to de-glaze rotors by driving the car while it is on jackstands. BE CAREFUL. This can be VERY dangerous. But if you do it right, you can scuff off the glazed rotor(s) and return everything to normal.
