Volvo doesn't make the ABS module. Ate does, it's used in several other makes without problems. Heat from the exhaust has been blamed for the failures, however, we see quite a few cars where other shops have replaced them, but the ABS TRACS off light came back. Replacing the control module sometimes makes the light go away for a while, but often they are replaced due to misdiagnosis. They are easy to do, and fixes the customers complaint temporarily.
