Wow, thanks; yes, I'll only be purchasing a manual transmission car...oh, and it's come from my experience that whatever the speedometer reads has nothing to do with how fast the car is (or very little). My '83 Porsche 944 has a 170 mph speedo, and it would be lucky to top out at 137. Disappointing, but true. Thanks again for your help, though I have acknowledged the differences in transmission, it's just that on a couple of sites I've seen that they are generally reported as having felt "quicker" in acceleration. Who knows?
