My 850 'Burps' 850 1993

Help,
My 1993 850 engine seems to "burps" or hesitates intermittently. Was told by a mechanic that it was the flame arrestor; wasn't.I believe that the burp caused me to blow a rear main seal.It is not the mass air flow sensor. Is there any other means of relieving crankcase pressure: valves, sensors, etc. that I'm not aware of. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
