My car, my problems 850 1993

Why the cost of the breather box? It's what volvo said to replace with its hoses and seals. I have the records for the car and it went to volvo every 3-4,000 for oil change, service, and check up. Why is it clogged? Good question. It the price too much? Ifeel like it is, where is the breather box anyway. I had a 240, the 850 is not quite the same. What should I be paying for the box?
