Well my love hate relationship with my 1996 855 TLA continues. Just when I completed my repairs on the AC and painted the calipers and rotors and feel'n real good with the car it does it to me again. The transmission went out for the second time in about 9-months with less than 10k miles on the car. I really beginning to believe that this car is a Monday morning after a long holiday break off the assembly line car! I've had evaporator problems, ABS control module problems, 2 radiator, stuck theromostat, replaced brake rotors 2 times, tires lasting only 25K miles, radio doesn't play 1/2 the time on FM just static, head light lens and bulbs, air mass meter, link rod, cv kit & boot, left front wheel bearing, etc. etc. etc. You should see the 2 inch stack of service records that came with the car the orginal owner gave me. I've sunk over $6750 in repairs in 19 months and 28 k miles. Thats 24 cents per mile! Just think what the bills would have been like if all my repairs were done at the dealer.
Should I sell this money pit and go back to my Ford? We've owned 4 other Volvos none of which were like this for repairs. My driving habits have not changed. My wife things that this is the last major repair and we should stick it out. I have my doubts. What ya think?
