I saw the car! 850

It is gorgeous! It just had its AC system recharged when I arrived. The interior showed some signs of wear, but overall it was clean and in good condition. The red exterior showed no signs of dents or major scratches. It had a spoiler, 17" spoked wheels, and tinted windows. The engine looked clean. The test drive was nice, although I really didn't get to flog it and check out how much power it has. However, when I shifted into reverse, there was this slight jerk. Is this normal? Also, there is this very subtle, very light rumble when the car is idling. I guess it can be felt/heard or sensed via the steering wheel. Is this also normal? The car drove and shifted fine otherwise.

The timing chain was serviced along with the water pump. The guy said pretty much all the preventive maintenance has been taken care of. I can tell the car was well taken care, and the owner seemed pretty meticulous about the car (a good thing).

I'm glad I went to see the car. The seller was really courteous and cool. I told him I liked the car, but what worries me is the 135k miles on it. I know Volvos are known to go for many miles and that 100k is just break in mileage, but I belong to the traditional school of thought that believes low mileage means that the car will last longer and have more use in it and therefore is more important. The car sounded and drove nicely, but I will need to test drive it again if I'm serious about it. Also, the seller said it needs nothing is pretty much ready to go.
