Yeah it's only moderately annoying. Saw a lot of them do this...
The part is really not too expensive even from Volvo. Probably the only part that costs what it's worth there.... and with the Volvospeed instructions, you could replace it yourself. If not, it should be less than 1 hr labor at any shop.
