Prospective 855R Purchase 850 1996

Joe,

Thanks for the input. Five speed would be nice for me. However, the spouse doesn't know how to drive one (I've tried to teach her on various occasions). Mechanically I feel pretty good about this car as it appears to have had maintenance done on it. The garage I take my 740GL to will be doing a pre-buy inspection for me on Thursday. They had replaced the altenator in June and read/reset some codes for the previous owner on different occassions. The only thing that really concerns me is the electrics. They are soooo frustrating to find/fix. And, I will probably decide how much frustration I want to put up with. I would really like another Volvo to be as dependable as my 740 has been. I'll see how it checks out and then see if I want to get rid of my Toyota wagon (boring but dependable for the few years I've had it).

Anyway, thanks again.

Tim
