850 automatic trans. PNP switch redux 850 1995

It is probably dielectric grease normally applied to switch contacts.
From a website for a grease manufacturer:

Using Dielectric grease on electrical connectors helps prevent corrosion and increases reliability.

I've never looked at the switch but I wonder if the grease has broken
down allowing the switch contacts to corrode. That is, it needs
more grease.
