Once you have reported a "problem" while the warranty is still in force, that problem would still HAVE to be fixed under warranty, after the warranty expires. Even if the ABS warning has reset itself....there is a code stored. You should(assumeing you use a quality volvo dealer service dept)have no problem with the ABS issue, as long as the problem is first reported within the warranty.
As for the trans.....I would first try to get the flush done under warranty. If it is NOT shifting correctly then there is a problem.....no? VCNA has a tech note on this, and they(VCNA) call for a trans flush with the Volvo branded synthetic ATF, and their ATF costs like $18 a quart, but works much much better than Mobil-1 synthetic ATF.....and I can personally attest to this, and to the fact the flush was covered under warranty by my dealer.
