heater blower motor replacement 850 1996

First of all, the chirping noise is caused by the bearings in the blower motor
going bad. Yet ANOTHER defect in a long line of them from Volvo.

The process of replacing it as detailed in Haynes manual is about 70% correct.
There are lots of things in the way and connected to the motor that are not listed in the manual. It's still capable of being done, however.

I did this about a year ago. My advice is to free yourself for about 4 hours just to be on the safe side. Then just take it slow one step at a time.

It's important to remember, when you are disconnecting all those electrical connections on and around the blower motor, where they go and what is connected to what. Some of the electrical connections are almost identical and can be hooked up to the wrong ones.

Good luck

kevin
