got a 96 850 with about 105k and no problems so far. however, after reading all the previous posts with the horror stories i a feeling a little guilty. i do most of the work, that is oil,brakes. live in the Carolinas so real cold is not an issue. relatives with 850 have had some of the problems that seem common but not to the extent that seems normal accordng to the posts. had a 87 240dl til 187k and no problems there. 99v70 was a nightmare til i got it straightened out but it had 55k on it when i purchased it from dealer. has vovlo extended warranty til 100k and it has been a lifesaver; otherwise i would have ditched it in the first three months.
