One piece of advice when trying to press in new bushings is to properly lubricate them. If they're rubber, the typical suggestion is glycerin. This stuff is easily found at your local Walgreens in the "personal lubricants" section. The brand name I've used for other press-in situations is "Astro-Glide"; it's also water-soluble, so it will eventually dissipate.
