Front Drive train noise 850 1997

Well, if I find some time this weekend, I think I'm going to put the car up on stands, pull the wheels, calipers, rotors, and then throw the sucker in gear and see what I can hear with my dandy little bearing stethoscope. I know this is not the safest thing I can do, but I figure with no wheels, at least it won't run me over.
