I can only give you my own experiece. I currently drive a 93 850 with 250k and it still drives like a dream. It never has had the engine cover off. Of course I change the oil each 4k miles and keep the car seviced. Most people believe the car has not been sneeze in. I did have the motor mounts replaced at around 200k miles.
