1996 850 has an air pump. As previous post said, if you want to be sure look at Bay13 instructions for replacing air pump to identify parts that indicate you have the pump. Don't bother looking for the pump (under the battery tray, too much trouble), look for the check valve (labeled SAS valve in picture) or the extra air hose from air cleaner.
