Assuming an auto box, look around the FAQs and find the suggested method for a full flush. I personally wouldn't use anything but synthetic ATF.
If you use AMSOIL synthetic ATF, I would recommend you then change just what is in the pan about 50,000 miles after the full flush. If you use non-synthetic, change what is in the pan every 15,000 miles after a full flush.
