Are they trying to rip me off in Puerto Rico? V70-XC70

We purchased a V70 T-5, '01 in California. Over there the services were every 7.5k miles. My job transfered me to Puerto Rico, and the dealership here claims that services are every 5k miles.
The maintenance book I have for my V70 clearly states that is every 7.5k miles but the dealership showed me a book for '01 volvos that shows services every 5k miles. The book was made by volvo but it stated that it was for the PR market.
Are dealers trying to rip off volvo clients on the island, or are conditions here much harsher that requires routine maintenance more often?
