after reading everything on this thread from you snowdogs i am convinced i
need get smart about tires. as i mentioned to the fellow conducting the
awd v. xc poll, my awd with its low profile wide tires (wish i could give you
the numbers) is like velcro anytime else, but a bit unnerving to drive on snowpack and ice. i'm exaggerating some, but I definately don't make a habit of smokin bimmers this time of year. ...have never gotten used to (nor convinced that it's helping) the sensitive abs action at slow speeds. in
general, even without hard braking, the front grip going into a turn (say on a
winter freeway offramp or a rt turn onto a narrow lane at "coast thru" speeds)... well, you just haveta slow down sooner
