It's not the hp max of 300 that can bend con rods, it's when the max hp is achieved that can cause the problems. I you keep max power in upper rpm, you can exceed 300 hp providing you have done everything properly. You should have 350 cc injectors to handle additional fuel requirements (your R should have them). Make sure you install the free flow exhaust and k&n filter. At 14.5 psi your max hp is what IPD tells you, to go higher hp you must increase boost. Go to Volvospeed.com, a good site to explore about this. Also, do not believe EA claims of hp, not reliable source. Most chip tuners who do get into 16-18 psi do so in higher gears at higher rpms so as not to damage internals.
