SS-what size rims are you replacing?? 16" is more comfort/less handling performance. 17" is the opposite! The "trick" to enjoying 17" rims is getting the CORRECT OFFSET, rim width and the BEST series profile for YOU. NOTE: OEM 17" rims come with MOSTLY 55 series tires & their 18s come w/45, but in the aft. market they almost ALWAYS sell "you" 45 and 40 series for 17s and 35 for 18s. It's crazy; even installers tell me most people suffer with their LOW PROFILES. Afterall, how much peformance driving will one be doing on public roads. In the spring, i'm changing rims(from VIPS 17"x8 w/215/45/17) to another set of 17". This time i'm going 17x7.5 Milie-Magila with 205/50/17 Khumos. Note: I really don't care about spedo correctness and trivial things like minor rubbing on full lock.
I just saw a dude with 22" on 55 series tires on an Escalade or Yukon. Could you imagine the damage from potholes in NJ from the weight of the truck on those rims. Best of luck, BD
