Jeff,

Did you attach the yellow lead on the VOLALP adapter to a constant power source? Is the fuse inside of the yellow wire good? I recently did an install in my wife's 1995 850 (SC-811 head unit, Alpine 630 changer and VOLALP adapter from Crutchfield) and it works perfectly. It is the best sounding car CD player I have heard yet. Anyway, I would recommend checking all connections, especially the power wire. I hope this helps...
