still having trouble with playing cdr 850 1995

Sounds like it works fine when you are out of the car because it is no longer moving. Do you drive on a lot of rough roads and perhaps the anti-skip deal can't keep up?
I would do like Mike 14 suggested and get a CD laser cleaning kit. They are cheap and easy, you may have your fix in 5 minutes and $12 later (we can hope).
