Is Midas a bad idea? 850 1996

I'm a new owner of a 97 850 GLT. On my last car (a 1981 240), I always went to Midas for brake pad replacement, due to their lifetime guarantee, or whatever you call it, where you pay for the brake pads once and then replacement pads are free for the life of the car. To tell you the truth, I don't even know what kind of brake pads they were using. Is it wise to go back to Midas, or should I go to a Volvo dealer for the OEM (?) pads?
