Load Bars cheaper from Volvo? 850

I bought a pair of euro roof rails last week from a dealer in Houston. The woman at the parts counter asked if I wanted load bars for $89. I said no, figuring that buying Thule or Yakima from REI would be much cheaper. But REI shows prices between $129 and $170, depending on mfg. Am I missing something?
